Vision and Mission
Promoting Sexual Health, Healing and Happiness
The vision and mission of the Midwest Institute of Sexology is to promote sexual health, healing and happiness by offering clinical, educational, and research services that affirm the following five human rights:
Right 1
The right to enjoy complete freedom of sexual thought, feeling or fantasy, and to pursue actively the erotic pleasures of our sensual bodies in any way that is ethical, safe, and self-determined.
Right 2
The right to engage, or to refrain from engaging, in all sexual activities, free from any coercion, nonconsensuality, hypocrisy or deceit, and to seek socially and psychologically a gratifying sexual lifestyle without fear of punishment, condemnation, intimidation or harassment.
Right 3
The right of every individual to regulate his or her bodily functioning and livelihood, as well as the right of peoples of all ages, backgrounds and circumstances, including all those who are disadvantaged, disabled, ill, impoverished or impaired, to be appropriately encouraged and supported in the development of their sensual and erotic potentialities.
Right 4
The right of all those suffering any form of sexual distress, disorder or dysfunction to biopsychosocial care and personal growth opportunities that are competent, compassionate and accessible.
Right 5
The right of every individual to develop his or her potential for playfulness as an intrinsic function of the human spirit, like the capacities to love and to work.
The intent of the Midwest Institute of Sexology is to pursue this vision of sexual health, healing and happiness by creating and implementing programs that are ethical, humanitarian, and spiritually grounded, and that meet the highest standards of personal and professional conduct.
